Under each year is how old the numbers were when they were read. Only years of the same age compare: 2019 to 2024 were read two years after the arrests, 2025 only one year after.

A charge with no final outcome on file is unknown, not acquitted: the court may not have reported yet, or the case may still be open.

The hatched part is not an outcome. The Department of Public Safety also counts 3,856 of the 2024 charges as released with no charges filed, apart from the final outcomes.

The Department of Public Safety also reports a prosecution action for 86% of the 2024 charges and a court action for 64%, more than the 58% with a final outcome on file, so some charges have a court action on file without a final outcome.
